Set up your football squares board in seconds
Select a Game vs Manual: If you pick a game from our schedule (NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball, or NHL), we will automatically pull in the team names, colors, and logos. Scores will also update live during the game without you having to do anything. If you choose Manual, you enter the team names yourself and update scores manually through the admin panel during the game.
Team 1 (Rows) and Team 2 (Columns): These are the two teams in your game. If you selected a scheduled game, these fields are filled in automatically. Team 1 appears along the rows of the grid (left side) and Team 2 appears along the columns (top). If you are creating a custom game, you can enter any names you want here.
Admin Password: This is the password you will use to manage your game. It gives you access to assign numbers, lock the grid, edit squares, enter scores, and control all admin functions. Keep this password safe because we cannot recover it if you lose it. Passwords are securely hashed and we do not have access to them.
Player Password: This is optional. If you set a player password, anyone who opens your game link will need to enter this password before they can see the board or claim squares. This is useful for keeping your game limited to a specific group. If you leave this blank, anyone with the link can view and join the game.
Game Title: Also optional. This is a short label that appears at the top of your game page. It is a good place to put something like "Marketing Team Super Bowl Game" or "Smith Family Squares." Keep in mind that monetary references and gambling language are not allowed in game titles.
The scoring format determines how winners are picked and how overtime is handled. You have two options:
Standard is the most common choice and works for the vast majority of games. It gives you a set number of winners based on the sport (4 for football and NBA, 3 for NHL, 2 for college basketball). The final score, including any overtime, determines the last winner. Most groups choose this option.
With Overtime adds a bonus winner if the game goes to overtime. It tracks the end-of-regulation score separately from the final score after OT. If the game does not go to overtime, the results are the same as Standard. Choose this if your group wants that extra potential winner and a little more excitement in close games.
Once you click "Create Game," you will be taken directly to your new game page. From there, the typical flow is:

If you want to create a game for a sport or event we do not have on the schedule, just choose Manual and enter any team names you want. You can use the squares grid for anything, not just sports. Some people have used it for award shows, election nights, and other events with numeric outcomes.
