What Are College Football Squares?

College football squares work exactly like NFL squares. A 10x10 grid creates 100 squares, each representing a unique combination of score digits for both teams. Participants claim squares before kickoff, numbers are randomized, and winners are determined by the last digit of each team's score at the end of each quarter. The game requires zero football knowledge to play.

College football's high-scoring, unpredictable nature makes it perfect for squares. Upsets happen regularly, scoring can be explosive, and the passion of college fanbases makes every game feel like an event worth celebrating with a squares game. For a full explanation of the rules, visit our How to Play page.

College Football Squares FAQ

Do you have all the bowl games?

Yes, every FBS bowl game is available once the schedule is announced. From early December bowls through the national championship, they are all here with live scoring.

What about FCS or lower division games?

We focus on FBS games for live scoring, but you can always create a manual game for any matchup and enter scores yourself.

How does overtime work in college football squares?

You choose the format when creating. Standard mode uses the final score for the last winner. "With Overtime" mode tracks end-of-regulation separately, adding a 5th winner if the game goes to OT. Our overtime guide has full details.

Can I run squares for my team's game every week?

Absolutely. Create a new game each week, or use the same grid across multiple games if your group prefers.

Do I need to know football to play?

Not at all. Squares are 100% luck based. Read our guide on squares for non-sports fans to see why everyone enjoys it.

Is this really free?

Yes, completely free. No premium tiers, no limits on games, no hidden fees.
